Am I weird for not getting all into Halloween?
We have the option of dressing up at work tomorrow.
Anywhere know where I can find those "Hello my name is:" stickers?
I'm thinking I'm just going to put them all over me, and write different names on them, and come as an identity crises.
Cleaning as we pack.
I have entirely too much crap!
But I'm packing in an organized fashion and I'm actually somewhat enjoying it.
I still have 3 weeks... so hey - I'm on a roll!!
Update me! Leave me a comment with your craziest/concerned happenings lately and let me get caught up with all of you!!
Miss you all. I'm hoping to sit down for a moment this weekend and post some pictures!!!!

I know this is a semi-random post, but I was talking to my mother this morning about things that my daughter is now into - - and these came up in conversation. I bought these foam blocks for my son when he was in 1st grade (he's in 5th now) to help him practice his spelling words, and make a game out of it - kind of like a relay - and they worked great! In cleaning out his closet a few weeks back he wanted to throw them away, but I asked him to save them for his sister (my daughter who is now 2.5). She found them recently in her closet and pulled them out and has played with them non-stop.
They're foam blocks - shaped like dice - in a carrying case - with letters/numbers/corresponding pictures. They're great practice for colors also! We take them out and put them up by color, she is working on her letter recognition - they don't hurt if they're thrown *lol* and she can build them up, knock them down, etc.
I know a lot of us are in love with educational, non noise-making, safe toys. If your child is a chewer I probably wouldn't recemmend them as I'm sure with little teeth they could be torn apart. She's never attemped to put them in her mouth tho and they've been a lifesaver for the past few weeks. Toy of the month, I say! :)
Anyway - just thought I'd share.

Funny stuff right here!
I have quite a bit of swelling but only in my left ankle. They just want to be sure it's nothing.
With all of that said -- 35 weeks and 5 days -- I think I said last week that I was 36. I had my weeks off by 1... after counting again and going over my records. I'm dilated a finger tip -- almost 1 cm as of today. She's pretty sure I'll be back there next week - but beyond that, who knows. I was dilated with my daughter 2 cm for nearly 2 weeks... so I'm hopeful I can carry her at least another 2 weeks!!!
All of that aside - everything looks great!

So, since Clinique has now retired their Bisque workout (sweat proof) base that my mother and I have been wearing for 20+ years through dancing and the like… and then now for every day wear (when I actually wear it… a tube will actually last me 3-4 months easy because I don't wear it every day) -- I need a good work-out base… that's like a creamy natural (in terms of Cover Girl) type of shade. Mom's pissed… lol. She's already filed her complaint and she's trying to get me to do the same because apparently if they receive enough complaints, they'll bring it back? I dunno why they're letting it go in the first place. Cover Girl breaks out out -- I told her to try Mac Cosmetics … but she's never heard of it - and I just threw it out there without doing my research on what they carry -- I just know a lot of women who have been using them.
Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said:
¨THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?¨
A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.
To Whom It May Concern:
Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Bering Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia . Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.
Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex? Therefore they do not have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store? The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.
P.S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a coffee with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, Good gosh, look how smart I am.
I'm wondering if Wes's family even KNOWS about the girlfriend... the sister voted him in, he took it, trying to up his career which he's said he wants to do - "the girl" is just bonus.... and he's still trying to bail out on his girlfriend story.
I don't trust him.
At all.

Quick Baby Update: (copied from an email I sent out to family)
Heart Rate = 154 - bigger she gets the lower it'll be -- and that's down from 170 at last visit, but still good.
Blood Pressure - great - 83/116
I am down 3 lbs which is a good thing… eating differently, even tho lots of swelling today. It's so hot and humid outside I walked out the door and started sweating. Still trying to cool down from that. Minus the swelling, I'll probably be down more than that.
Next appointment is June 22nd which starts my 2 week routines (and granny's birthday -- Sonja's too I think?)
Next ultrasound (3D and they will record it for me with their "new technology") is July 8th (which is also my anniversary! Yay) I think we're definitely going to try and take Riley. We *might* take Alyssa. I will probably try and take that day off and see if I can get Scott to do the same.
I love my insurance - did I mention that? *lol*
That's about it for now! Everything looks great!
Hey guys!!!
Scott and I, along with my parents, have found a way through friends to make some additional money - using Facebook in the long run! Since Facebook is a 200 million + networking community it's cool to think we can utilize this tool that the world is blowing up to make some money!!! It's crazy! But we're excited about the possibilities.
The project is headed up by Derek Broes, who started this whole thing (and initially helped Microsoft blow up to what it is today) and he fully believes in the ability to make money.
The company that we're working with is very new, very legit, and coming out of the woodworks with power behind them!
Next week or the week after (according to the press releases - the first/second week of June), they are going to release this op to facebook. They have an exclusive contract with facebook. Once they do, there will undoubtedly be a lot of folks signing up. As I said, there are over 200 million facebook users. They did a beta test for one hour and got 2000 people to sign up in just one hour. You don't want to miss the opportunity to sign up with us now and take part of what will potentially be one of the largest networking opportunities to come! We all want to be at the top of the geneology ladder before it attacks facebook and we can gain the volume we need to fully benefit!
If you're interested in finding out more, please let me know - and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!! I also have my mentor that I may use to help explain to you further the situation and answer questions where I am still learning… he is totally sweet, caring, christian, and a friend of my parents. His name is Ron Merrit. Many of you may have heard me talk about Kristen Hillard, mom's friend who lost her baby just a month before her due date two years ago. Ron is her father. He has been a pleasure to speak with, work with, and his excitement just makes us want to be involved with this process even that much more!!! We heard about this opportunity one afternoon, talked it over with the parents this weekend and signed up last night!
Rememeber you can't get something for nothing - but I believe this something is going to become HUGE and I for one am excited… talk about a stay at home opportunity. And for Mom and Dad to believe… that's just even more incentive for me! :) They've never been very supportive of the stay at home opportunities I've tried in the past -- but they're even joining me on this one :)
Love to all!!
Amber
